Jesus is seen as both the King and a High Priest. “Jesus as Davidic Messiah is also a High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek, who as an angelic priest is superior to the human Aaronic priests. So like the angel Melchizedek, Jesus is both a king (Davidic messiah) and a High Priest (Ps 110:1, 4); in fact he is a superior High Priest since he, like Melchizedek, does not die ("an indestructible life").”
